Bus stop Krumbach-Zwing | Smiljan Radic , Chile | Bernardo Bader | Mader Flatz ( Bregenz ) | Felder Metall ( Andelsbuch ), Markus Faißt ( Hittisau ) wood workshop , Oberhauser & Schedler Bau (Andelsbuch), Manfred Baldauf plumber ( Doren ) | Morscher Bau ( Mellau ) | The architect was inspired by the Bregenzerwald craft for his design. The stop is a reference to the Bregenzerwald Bauernstube . He transferred this effect from the intimacy of the farmhouse parlor to the fancy of a bus stop. At the bus stop, a piece of the room has apparently been cut out and set into the landscape. The waiting building is a glass pavilion with a black concrete coffered ceiling. Two wooden armchairs in rustic style act as seating. A birdhouse is indicated above the glass cube, which serves as attention and distraction. | 1
Bus stop Unterkrumbach Nord | Ensamble Studio , Antón García-Abril / Débora Mesa , Spain | Dietrich / Untertrifaller Architects | Mader Flatz (Bregenz) | Carpentry Gerhard Berchtold ( Schwarzenberg ) | Hypo Vorarlberg | For the bus stop, raw and untreated oak boards were stacked on top of each other. A protected and open space is created simply by arranging the boards. The boards are completely untreated and due to the aging of the wood, the location should be very specific. | 2
Bus stop Unterkrumbach Süd | Architecten De Vylder Vinck Taillieu , Belgium | Thomas Mennel ( MeMux Schwarzenberg ) | gbd ( Dornbirn ) | Waldmetall Dietmar Bechter (Hittisau), Haller Bau ( Sulzberg ), painting Raid (Krumbach) | EHG steel metal (Dornbirn) | The waiting building was created by the impression of driving through alpine passes by car. According to the architects, the metal construction with a triangular shape represents the “poetic act of folding triangular surfaces”. | 3
Bus stop Krumbach-Glatzegg | Wang Shu / Lu Wenyu ( Amateur Architecture Studio ), People's Republic of China | Hermann Kaufmann ( Schwarzach ) | Merz Kley Partner (Dornbirn) | Merchant carpentry ( Reuthe ), Haller Bau (Sulzberg), plumber Manfred Baldauf (Doren) | Sutterlüty ( Egg ) | At this bus stop, the architects wanted a clear view in both directions. For this reason, a "camera obscura" - a conical room - was planned that opens up to the street and frames the view of the mountains and the villages with a window in the back wall. They wanted to achieve a focused perception of the landscape, which is always more important in their projects than the building itself. | 4th
Bus stop Krumbach-Kressbad | Rintala Eggertsson Architects , Norway | Baumschlager Hutter Partners | Mader Flatz (Bregenz) | Carpentry Steurer with Krumbach craftsmen, shingles Peter Lässer ( Lingenau ), painting Raid (Krumbach), music association Krumbach, off-roader Krumbach | I + R Schertler Building ( Lauterach ) | The bus stop stands directly on a tennis court. This enabled the team of architects to add an additional social offer to the waiting room: a small grandstand for the tennis court. The stop was functionally designed as a wooden structure and clad with shingles. What is special about the station is the “combination of need and opportunity”. | 5
Bus stop Oberkrumbach | Alexander Savvich Brodski , Russia | Hugo Dworzak ( Lustenau architecture workshop ) | Merz Kley Partner (Dornbirn) | Carpentry Gerhard Bilgeri ( Riefensberg ), Plumber Manfred Baldauf (Doren), Oberhauser & Schedler Bau (Andelsbuch), painting Raid (Krumbach), room in the form of Raimund Fink (Krumbach) | Rhomberg Group (Bregenz) | The bus stop is on the rest of a piece of land that is otherwise built on with a single-family house. By restricting the space, the architect built a radically simple tower made of wood at this point. It is open on all sides, three of which are glazed. On the level of the first floor there are small "windows" without glazing. With the help of a table and bench, the architect wants to make the stay as pleasant as possible. | 6th
Krumbach fires bus stop | Sou Fujimoto , Japan | Bechter Zaffignani Architects (Bregenz) | gbd (Dornbirn) | Eberle Metall Exclusiv (Hittisau), painting Raid (Krumbach), carpentry Gerhard Berchtold (Schwarzenberg), Haller Bau (Sulzberg) | Illwerke / VKW Group (Bregenz) | The architect focuses on the union of nature and architecture in his works. The bus stop is intended to promote dialogue with nature and not to offer protection from it. The "space frame" should serve as an opportunity for interaction. The bus stop consists of thin steel rods painted white. A staircase winds its way up inside this open sculpture. It should enable a new dimension in the perception of place, space and nature. | 7th |
