Soulstorm is a Canadian industrial and death metal band from Toronto that was formed in 1991.

history

The band was formed in May 1991 by bassist and vocalist Nick Sagias after his previous band Overthrow broke up. He also played with Pestilence . The band recorded a demo that was released in 1991 through Epidemic Records under the name Control . After various concerts, the debut album followed in 1992 with Darkness Visible via Metal Blade Records , Music for Nations and Epidemic Records. The release was followed by the first music video for the song Disruption . The band also held concerts with Entombed , KMFDM , Cannibal Corpse , Grave , USSA , Malhavoc , Suffocation , Clutch , Cancer and Massacre. The band also toured the United States and Canada with Sacrifice , Thought Industry and Genitorturers . In late 1993, Sagias toured Canada with a new line-up with Monster Voodoo Machine . In addition, the second album From Euphoria to Paranoia was released in 1994 via Cargo Records . A second music video was also released for Turning Point at the same time . After a pause in 1996, the occupation took place from time to publish From Euphoria to paranoia back together and took the EP Under the Sun Killing on. The EP was limited to 1000 copies and was released on Sagias' Sweet Tooth Records label. The music video Brand New Day was also released. From the end of December 1999, the band project was paused before work on the album Fall of the Rebel Angels began in 2011 , with Rob Urbinati (Sacrifice) as a guest singer. A concert with Hanzel and Gretyl followed for publication . Guitarists Bryan Mallon and Shawn Stoneman were new members and Chris Mezzabotta was the new drummer in the band.

style

The band plays a mix of death and industrial metal that is comparable to the music of Godflesh . Influences from Doom Metal can also be heard. The use of a drum computer is also characteristic.
