Soundaraj Periyanayagam
Soundaraj Periyanayagam SDB (born June 6, 1949 in Periya Kolappalur , India , † March 21, 2020 in Chetpet , Tamil Nadu ) was an Indian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Vellore .
Life
Soundaraj Periyanayagam entered the religious order of the Salesians of Don Bosco and received on 25 June 1983, the sacrament of Holy Orders .
On July 11, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the Bishop of Vellore. The Bishop of Madras-Mylapore , Malayappan Chinnappa SDB, donated him episcopal ordination on August 24 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Pondicherry and Cuddalore , Antony Anandarayar , and the Bishop of Coimbatore , Thomas Aquinas Lephonse .
