Spörbichl is a village and a cadastral municipality in the market town of Windhaag near Freistadt in Upper Austria . The village has around 150 inhabitants.
Spörbichl is located at 904 meters above sea level southeast of Windhaag. The town center is by the chapel . On the hill of Spörbichl there are two 60 meter high wind turbines , which are part of the Spörbichl wind farm , and there is also the Spörbichl volunteer fire department.
history
The earliest written document is from 1499 and is called Sperpuhel. As a compound from Middle High German sper- (hard from dryness, rough) and -puhel, the name means dry Bühel .
