The FV 1920 Züllichau was a German football club from the town of Züllichau, which was then part of the Brandenburg province .
history
In 1920, MTV Züllichau founded its own football department, which in the same year became independent as FV 1920 Züllichau . Although located in the province of Brandenburg, the club was assigned to the Southeast German Football Association (SOFV) and played there within the Lower Silesia district . Already in the first season of 1920/21 Züllichau won the regional Gauliga Glogau and was allowed to take part in the Lower Silesian football championship, in which the club reached fourth of five places. The club's greatest success came in the 1921/22 season . Again the club won the Gauliga Glogau and qualified for the finals in Lower Silesia. In the round- robin tournament, Züllichau was able to prevail with four wins and became Lower Silesian football champion. Through this success, the club qualified for the finals of the SOFV, but there the clubs from the other districts were far superior, so that Züllichau could only achieve one point in four games. The negative climax were the games against the title contenders FC Viktoria Forst and Vereinigte Breslauer Sportfreunde , which were lost 0:11 and 0: 9.
For the 1922/23 season an upper district league was introduced in Lower Silesia via the regional Gauligen, for which Züllichau qualified and achieved midfield placements in the years to come. In 1924/25 the club qualified again for the final of the Lower Silesian football championship, which was lost in two games against SpVgg Schupo Liegnitz . In 1927 the club was renamed SpVgg Blau-Weiß Züllichau . In the 1927/28 season , the club had to be relegated, but with two victories against SVgg Lüben , the first class could be maintained. After the 1928/29 season , the club was relegated to 1st class in Glogau Nord . In the next two seasons, Blau-Weiß Züllichau qualified for the Glogau finals, but subsequently failed due to the winner of the 1st class Glogau Süd .
In the course of the Gleichschaltung, the Southeast German Football Association was dissolved a few months after the National Socialists came to power in 1933. In its place, the Gauliga Schlesien and its substructure for the clubs from Silesia and the Gauliga Berlin-Brandenburg and its substructure for the clubs from the province of Brandenburg took its place. A qualification for Gauliga Berlin-Brandenburg succeeded in SpVgg Blau-Weiss Züllichau not, the club played from now in the minor leagues. After the end of the Second World War , Züllichau was placed under Polish administration. The German population was expelled by the local Polish administrative authority and replaced by Poles and all sports clubs were dissolved. The German city of Züllichau was given the Polish name Sulechów .
