With one title win and five runner-up titles, it was one of the leading clubs in the Southeast German Football Association .

The Viktoria Forst was 1901 in the cloth town of Forst (Lausitz) founded, the playground was in the Kronenstr. in the Berge district east of the Lusatian Neisse . Since the Association of Niederlausitzer Ballspiel-Vereine had dissolved at this point in time, Viktoria Forst was initially unable to play regular point games. Whether Viktoria, like local competitor FC Askania Forst , played in other associations has not yet been determined. For the 1904/05 season, the association Niederlausitzer ballgame clubs played back from a final round in which also Viktoria Forst took part. After Forst landed last this season, the performance could be increased in the following season, so that Forst reached 2nd place and only had to admit defeat to FV Brandenburg Cottbus .

The Southeast German Football Association (SOFV) was founded in 1906 and from then on played the Southeast German Football Championship , the winners of which were qualified for the final round of the German Football Championship. The participating SOFV clubs were divided into regional district classes of equal rank, the winners of which played the Southeast German soccer championship. Viktoria Forst played from then on in the Niederlausitz district class . In the first season , Forst reached a midfield position, and in the coming seasons, the Forster found themselves regularly in midfield of the table. In the 1908/09 season Viktoria Forst landed fourth out of six participating teams, but had to compete in the relegation game against the winner of the 2nd class for unknown reasons. Viktoria lost this game against FC Deutschland Forst with 1: 2 and was relegated. In the coming season, the club rose again to the top division without losing points. After further secured midfield positions in the following playing years, Viktoria won the Niederlausitzer football championship for the first time in the 1913/14 season and was thus allowed to participate in the south-east German finals. After the Forster had drawn a bye in the first round , the future rival club Breslauer Sportfreunde waited in the semifinals . In a tight game, the Forster lost 2-1 and were eliminated. The coming seasons were not played due to the First World War .

1919 to 1933 dominance in Niederlausitz

No football championship was played during the First World War . The first regular season took place again in 1919/20 . Despite the fact that many football players had to go to war and died as a result of the war or came back as disabled, Viktoria Forst had no trouble putting together a powerful team and was Niederlausitz football champion for the second time in the first season after the war. In the final round, the Forster reached the final, but again had to admit defeat to the United Breslauer Sportfreunde , this time Breslau clearly won 6-2. In the 1920/21 season , Forst was again undefeated Niederlausitzer football champions. As in the previous two seasons, Forst again reached the final of the southeast German soccer championship and again had to admit defeat to the United Breslau Sports Friends. In the extension, Forst lost 2-1, so that it was again only enough for the runner-up in Southeast Germany. The Forsters were lucky in the 1921/22 season . After Forst in Niederlausitz had only occupied second place in the table behind Cottbuser FV 1898 , but Cottbus decided not to participate in the southeast German final round for unknown reasons, Forst was still allowed to take part. After the end of this final round three teams ( United Breslauer Sportfreunde , FC Viktoria Forst , FC Preußen Kattowitz ) were tied, so play-offs were necessary. In the meantime, however, the city of Katowice fell to Poland, so that players of FC Preußen Kattowitz could not take part in the playoffs for the time being due to pass problems. In order to still be able to send a participant for the final round of the German championship, a decision game between the Breslauer Sportfreunde and Viktoria Forst took place, which the Forster won. The decision about the Southeast German championship took place later. There the Breslauers prevailed, but could no longer take part in the German championship for reasons of time. In the German football championship 1921/22 difference Viktoria Forst on May 21, 1912 just by a 0: 1 away defeat against SV Norden-Nordwest Berlin in the quarter-finals.

In season 1922-23 was Viktoria Forst second in the Niederlausitzer Final Group. Already in the following season was Viktoria Forst again Niederlausitzer football championship. At the following Southeast German final, Forst had to give up again to the United Breslau Sports Friends and became Southeast German runner-up. In 1924/25 , Forst was undefeated for the fifth time in the Niederlausitz football championship. In the south-east German finals, Forst was level on points with the Breslauer SC 08 , so a play-off was necessary. This took place on April 5, 1925 in Cottbus instead, Victoria Forest won with 1: 0 and was first Southeast German football champions. With this victory, the Forster qualified for the German soccer championship 1924/25 . On May 3, 1925, Viktoria met black and white Essen in the round of 16 in the Forster Stadium in front of 7,000 spectators . After Schulte's early conceded goal was offset by a goal from Bruno Lehmann shortly before the end of the first half , the Forster had to accept another goal ten minutes before the end of the game and were ultimately eliminated 2-1. On August 16, 1925 in front of 2,000 spectators in Forst in a friendly game Betis Sevilla was beaten 4-0.

In the 1925/26 season , Forst was second in the Niederlausitz district league, but was also allowed to participate in the finals as the southeast German defending champion. As in the previous year, Viktoria Forst and Breslauer SC 08 were again tied at the end of the final round , so that another play-off was necessary. After the playoff, which took place in Bytom on May 2, 1926 , ended 0-0, a second playoff had to be played. This game played on May 9, 1926, won the Breslauer SC 08 3-2, so that Viktoria Forst was runner-up in Southeast Germany for the fifth time. With the runner-up, the Forster qualified for the German soccer championship 1925/26 , where they were eliminated in the round of 16 as in the previous year. The future German soccer champions SpVgg Fürth was too strong, Forst lost away with 0: 5. In the next three years Forst had to give up regionally to the Cottbus clubs and achieve top positions in Niederlausitz. From the 1929/30 season Viktoria Forst was three times in a row Niederlausitzer football champion, but could not achieve any top positions in the southeast German finals. Due to the industrial boom in Upper Silesia, the playing strength there increased considerably, while clubs from Niederlausitz at the beginning of the 1930s were only mediocre. The last season of the Southeast German Football Association ended for Viktoria Forst on a disappointing fifth place. In the course of the Gleichschaltung, the Southeast German Football Association was dissolved a few months after the National Socialists came to power in 1933.

1933 to 1945 merger and second division

In 1933 the club merged with Fortuna Forst to become Viktoria-Fortuna Forst , and in spring 1934 it was renamed FC 1901 Forst . However, Forst was unable to build on the successes of earlier years. In the course of the Gleichschaltung, the Southeast German Football Association was dissolved a few months after the National Socialists came to power in 1933. The vast majority of the clubs were assigned to the Gauliga Schlesien and the associated lower-class leagues after 1933 , only the clubs from Forst , Cottbus and Guben from the Niederlausitz district class were assigned to the Gauliga Berlin-Brandenburg or the associated lower leagues. Only the last-time Niederlausitzer football champions were entitled to a place in the top Gauliga, all other clubs were classified in the league hierarchy. Since Viktoria Forst only reached fifth place in the table in the 1932/33 season, the team, now trading as FC 1901 Forst , was not allowed to participate in the Gauliga and was classified in the second-class district class Frankfurt (Oder) / Lausitz. In the first season, Forst was first in the group south. After Forst and FC Alemannia Großräschen were tied in the final table , a playoff was necessary, which Forst won 4-1. As a result, the club qualified for the promotion games to the Gauliga Berlin-Brandenburg, opponent was 1. FC Guben , winner of the group north of the Frankfurt (Oder) / Lausitz district class. The Gubener won the first game 3-0, the second leg the Forster won 4-1. In the decisive third game, Guben won 4-2 , so FC 1901 Forst missed promotion to the Gauliga Berlin-Brandenburg 1934/35 . For the 1934/35 season, the district classes were regrouped again, and from then on, Forst played in the district class East Lusatia. Results from the individual seasons are currently only partially available.

Situation after the Second World War

Viktoria Forst's stadium was located in the former Berge district east of the Neisse . After the Second World War , the territory fell to Poland. All buildings, public facilities and roads were demolished in order to obtain building materials for the reconstruction of the interior. With that, FC Viktoria Forst suffered the same fate as FC Askania Forst , because a new establishment was neither on the German nor on the Polish side.
