history

Today's Sparkasse is a merger of three savings banks as a special purpose association . The oldest of these institutes was the establishment founded as Städtische Sparkasse Memmingen in 1824. After 1977, the former District and Stadtsparkasse Memmingen and the District and Stadtsparkasse Mindelheim, whose business areas, the former districts of Memmingen and Mindelheim bordered, merged to form the Sparkasse Memmingen-Mindelheim. On January 1st, 2001 the Stadt- und Kreissparkasse Lindau joined the Memmingen Institute. There is no direct spatial connection between the two business areas, which led to discussions after the intention to merge became known. The expanded savings bank was named Sparkasse Memmingen-Lindau-Mindelheim.

Savings Banks Finance Group

The Sparkasse Memmingen-Lindau-Mindelheim is part of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe and therefore also belongs to its liability association.
