history
In May 1853, Factory Director Frisch founded a savings association for the St. Blasien factory. In 1859 the St. Blasien district savings bank was founded and the first board of directors was elected. The steady growth made it necessary to look for own, larger premises as early as the 1920s and so the first branch was opened in Schluchsee on January 20, 1927. Nine years later, the second branch was opened in Höchenschwand. Over the years the branches in Bernau , Häuser , Menzenschwand and Wolpadingen were also opened. On July 2, 1965, the first extension in the St. Blasien headquarters was necessary to accommodate the customer hall and other offices. In 2004 a new building of the administrative center followed with the main office in St. Blasien. The construction time was 25 months and thus the Sparkasse started operations in the new building in 2006.
Sparkasse St. Blasien celebrated its 150th anniversary on January 28, 2009.
