Sparkasse Prize for role models in sport
The Sparkasse Prize for Role Models in Sport has been awarded annually since 1992 for a personality in German sport. It is endowed with 40,000 euros, with 20,000 euros being used by the recipient for a promotional project in the field of young talent that he has determined. The prize is awarded as part of the honor for the athlete of the year in Baden-Baden .
The prize is donated by the German Savings Banks and Giro Association (DSGV) for “personalities from sport who, in addition to their successes, are role models for young athletes and society through their fairness, their motivation or their charismatic demeanor”.
