The top mountain is 790.3 m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the Thuringian Slate Mountains in the district of Sonneberg , Thuringia ( Germany ).
It is located northeast of Lichte and southeast of the Leibis-Lichte dam in the Thuringian Forest Nature Park .
The top mountain is built from shale rock from the deep Silurian . The key fossil is Phycodes circinatum , an Ichnofossil . The phycode slate of the Spitzen Berg has a high iron content.
