Stéphane Augé (born December 6, 1974 in Pau , France ) is a former French cyclist and current sports director .

Career

Augé had been a professional since 2000. He began his career with Team Festina , switched to Jean Delatour in 2002 and joined Crédit Agricole in 2003 . Since 2005 he has been driving for the Cofidis team .

Augé won a stage at the Germany Tour 2002 and the Tour du Poitou-Charentes 2000 and 2006 at the Tour of Poland and the Tour du Limousin .

Augé took part in the Tour de France eight times ( 2002 , 2003 , 2005 , 2006 , 2007 , 2008 , 2009 and 10 ). On his tour debut, he achieved his best overall ranking (115th). In 2007 he wore the dotted jersey for two stages and received the red number on the back for the most combative driver. On September 5, 2008, he won the seventh stage of the Germany tour over 214 kilometers from Neuss to Georgsmarienhütte .

At the end of the 2010 season, Stéphane Augé ended his career as an active professional cyclist and switched to the sporting direction of Cofidis. (Stand 2013)
