Stéphane Passeron (born December 9, 1968 ) is a former French cross-country skier .

Career

Passeron ran his first of a total of 20 individual World Cup races in Brusson in December 1996 , which he finished in 92nd place over 15 km freestyle. In 1998 he won the Transjurassienne over 76 km freestyle. He also won seven times at the Marathon de Bessans over 42 km freestyle (1995, 1999-2004) and five times at La Foulée Blanche (1999, 2001-2004). In the 2000/01 season he was third in the Marcialonga and second in the American Birkebeiner and thus achieved second place in the overall Marathon Cup ranking. In the following season he came third in the Transjurassienne and second in the American Birkebeiner to seventh place in the overall standings of the Marathon Cup. In December 2001 he also achieved third place over 10 km freestyle at the Continental Cup in Goms and achieved his only World Cup point in Ramsau am Dachstein with 30th place in the 30 km mass start race. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2003 in Val di Fiemme , he ran to 50th place over 50 km freestyle and 11th place with the relay. In the 2004/05 season he came in third place in the Alpine Cup over 10 km freestyle in Schilpario and second in Montgenèvre and thus achieved fourth place in the overall standings. He also finished second at the Transjurassienne in 2005. He completed his last individual World Cup race in February 2005 in Reit im Winkl , which he finished in 75th place over 15 km freestyle.
