Stütgerloch is a district of the municipality of Langerwehe in the Düren district , North Rhine-Westphalia .

location

Stütgerloch has grown together with the capital on the northern side. Neighboring towns are Langerwehe and Jüngersdorf .

history

Roman settlement remains were found in the middle of the village . So an early settlement is proven. Stütgerloch was first mentioned in 1454 under Werner von Palant- Breidenbend. The manor located on the hill , around which the rest of the settlement later grouped in the Wehetal , is named in 1580 as the seat of the Junkers von Schloßberg ( Birkesdorf ), who was followed by Werner Stytgen as Waldsasse . He gave the place its name. The mill pond formed the border between Stütgerloch and Langerwehe. That is still the case today. The Stütgerhof, next to the Lochmühle, the oldest manor in the village, passed into the possession of the Kreuzbruderkloster Schwarzenbroich in the 16th century . From 1794 to 1815 Stütgerloch was an independent place in the canton of Eschweiler in the Département de la Roer . It has belonged to the Düren district since 1816. The Lochmühle, which was a listed building, was demolished in summer 2008 because the facility was so badly damaged that the renovation was no longer profitable.

Transport, train, buses

The Cologne - Düren - Aachen railway runs on the outskirts . The next train station is "Langerwehe".

After the completion of the bypass road, the federal highway 264 no longer runs through the town.

Local public transport is provided by BVR buses with lines 96, 260, 261 and 296.
