Exterior construction

From the original Romanesque church, only a walled-up portal in the basement of the bell tower remains. The bell tower, which rises in the southern corner of the choir, is covered with a hipped roof. On the upper floor, it is broken through on all four sides by slightly pointed twin arcades. A stair tower is built on the south side.

The two ships in a gable roof covered. They are separated from each other on the gable side by a wide buttress. Both naves are accessible through a pointed arch portal on the west facade, a round window opens over both portals.

The interior consists of two parallel naves with three bays , which are separated from each other by pointed arch arcades resting on pillars. The two naves, the northern one being wider than the southern one, open into a three-bay choir , which is closed at the height of the southern nave and ends in a triangle at the height of the northern nave .

The entire interior is covered with ribbed vaults, which are decorated with magnificent keystones . However, only the keystones in the choir and the two eastern bays date from the early 16th century. The vault of the western yoke was renewed at the end of the 19th century and replicas of the original hangers were added.

Leaded glass window

In the choir of the south aisle there are still lead glass windows from the 19th century. One window shows the patron saint of the church, St. Clair, as a deacon with the martyr's palm. Another window shows the instruction of Mary. The window with the representation of Mary in a halo bears the signature “H. CHABIN B. D'ENFERT PARIS ”. Most of the original windows have been replaced with modern windows by Christiane and Philippe Andrieux.
