history

The village church, in which several stages of construction can still be seen, is over 800 years old. In the lower part of the church tower there are still remains of an old chapel . On the east side there is still the apse with narrow, arched windows. The Romanesque architectural style is said to have been replaced by the Gothic in the 13th century.

Today the tower has a hipped roof with open ridge turrets and a helmet . In 1752 the old gable roof and the weather vane were replaced. The new weather vane bears the year 1752.

The nave was added to the west of the choir from the 14th century .

Not until 1956 are reports about the renovation of the church with apse and nave. The baptismal font and the altar were also renewed. The inauguration took place on October 18, 1959. In 1966 the church roof could be re-covered and the cemetery wall was rebuilt. The house also received new sound shutters.

In 1996 it was possible to plaster the apse with the funds made available. In 1998 the roof beams damaged by moisture were renovated.

In 2004, the restorer Kretschmar from Gauern was able to design the church in terms of color.
