The St. Marien Church in Lilienthal-Trupe , usually called Truper Kapelle , is an Evangelical Lutheran branch church of the former St. Marien monastery church in Lilienthal , Osterholz-Scharmbeck district , Lower Saxony . It belongs to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hanover .

Building history

The hall church dates from the middle of the 13th century. The Reformation was introduced in 1534. In 1646 Trupe was united with Alt-Lilienthal and placed under the monastery priest. In 1720 the Sunday service was moved to Lilienthal. In March 1761, the church was hit by a flood that left water a foot above the altar. The tower was preserved when the French set the church on fire on April 21, 1813. In the years 1819-1820 the vaults were torn down, the floor was raised and the walls were restored to their present state. Towards the end of the Second World War in 1945, the church was badly damaged by shelling and rebuilt in 1949–1951. Inside, the war damage was repaired.

Interior

Behind the altar is a 20th century carpet in which the words of the story of creation are woven. On the altar is an earthenware crucifix from the 20th century. There is a neo-Gothic font in the choir.

A picture of the Madonna von Trupe and the dates of the church's history were attached to the rear south wall. On the north wall there is a memorial for those who fell from 1939 to 1945.

On the organ stage stands one of the last organs , which was built by the Wilhelmshaven organ building workshop Alfred Führer in 1996. The instrument has eight registers, divided into a manual (Cf 3 : Gedeckt (B / D) 8 ', Principal 4', Rohrflöte 4 ', Principal 2', Sesquialter II (B / D) , Mixtur III-IV (B / D) , Dulcian (B / D) 8 ') and pedal (Cf 1 : Subbass 16'). The playing and stop action are mechanical. The instrument is equipped with a pedal coupler. The regular maintenance and care of the instrument is now taken over by the company Orgelbau Fleiter oHG from Münster-Nienberge , whose owner Stefan Linke was involved in the construction of this organ.

Bells

The tower houses a historically significant peal of two bells , which sound with little deviation on the same chime . Particularly valuable is the large Jesus, Marien & Johannes bells by the Bremen bell founder Johannes Breer, who was in the tradition of Geert van Wous and of whom bells can only be found in the Netherlands today.
