The chapel

The listed St. Nicholas Chapel is in Isweiler , a small hamlet in the municipality of Nörvenich in the Düren district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

According to the vernacular, the former chapel is said to have collapsed around 1900. The figure of St. Nicholas with Bütte and three children in it came to the parish church in Kelz at that time . A procession used to move from Kelz to Isweiler on St. Nicholas Day, later it moved from Frauwüllesheim to Isweiler. The processions have been suspended since the end of the 20th century.

The chapel is about 6 m high, 5 m wide and 8 m long without a turret . It was built from bricks and has a sloping gable roof . The west wall is covered with slate.

The chapel was entered on March 11, 1985 in the monument list of the municipality of Nörvenich under No. 28.
