The Kuratiekirche St. Agidius in the Kirchstein district (Kirchenweg 14) of the municipality of Kirchanschöring is consecrated to St. Aegidius .

history

The church should have been built by the Lampo (t) dingern . It is mentioned for the first time in 1335 as a branch church of the Augustinian canons of St. Zeno von Reichenhall . In the middle of the 15th century, the church in its present form was built as a burial place for the Lampodingers. In 1691 the late Gothic tower was given an octagonal tower with an elongated double bulb . On the east side, in the niche of a walled-up window, is the fresco with the only picture of Lampoding Castle , created around 1750 , above is the Passau miraculous image of "Maria Hilf". The two-storey attached sacristy was built in 1829 with stones from the broken off Lampodingen castle wall. On the south side there is a porch with a pointed arched stone portal with a pear rod profile and rich door fittings with a pull ring from the time of construction. On the west side is a glazed clay relief of "Christ on the Cross". In the former ossuary is a grave monument made of red Adnet marble for Anna Keutzl , the wife of Friedrich von Lampoting .

Around 1619 and around the middle of the 18th century, the nave and choir were figuratively painted. This painting was partially exposed during a renovation in 1951. A neo-Gothic room setting made in 1861 was removed, and the two neo-Gothic side altars were also removed. During the last renovation in 1994/98, the baroque figures were freed from the neo-Gothic version and the original altar structure was reconstructed.

In the area of the St. Agidius Church underground late medieval and early modern findings were secured.

Construction and equipment

The nave has three bays, to which the drawn-in three-bay choir area adjoins with three sides of an octagon. The net vault has no keystone, it rests on pillars and circular services. The intersections of the ribs are decorated with tendril painting. In the west, an organ gallery, which was enlarged in the 19th century, with neo-Gothic wooden tracery closes the church.

The neo-Gothic high altar comes from Franz Xaver Hörmann from the Burg von Taching am See district . The altarpiece shows St. Egidius as an abbot with a doe. To the right and left are life-size figures under canopies of the Salzburg diocese saints Rupert and Virgil . They are remains of the high altar created in 1758 by Richard Högner from Tittmoning . On the tabernacle there are three reliefs related to the Eucharist (Mannawunder, Christ on the Cross and Last Supper) by Johann Georg Itzlfeldner from Tittmoning from 1788. On the wall there are figures of St. Nicholas and St. Ulrich on consoles , created by the Salzburg sculptor Simeon Eat . On the south side is the grave monument for the castle owner Johann Christoph Perner von Rettenwörth from 1629. The sacristy door from 1651 with rich lily fittings still shows old traces of paint. A modern copy of the Cracow Madonna by Lucas Cranach the Elder is attached to a yoke . On the north side there is a wall painting from 1619 with six scenes from the life of St. Egidius. On the sides of the choir arch are the weather patrons Johannes (left) and Paulus. On the north side of the nave is a figure of St. Joseph from a former side altar. Above the entrance is a figure of St. Leonhard , made in 1680 by Sigmund Högner .

The organ was completely restored in 1979 by the organ builder Hermann Öttl from Salzburg. The altar table and the new ambo were designed in 2000 by Friedrich Koller from Laufen and designed by Auxiliary Bishop Dr. Franz Dietl inaugurated.
