History and architecture

Furnishing

  • An East German wooden Marian lament from the 15th century was acquired in the art trade
  • A Mother of God with a pomegranate standing on a crescent moon , around 1460
  • A small Vesper picture from the beginning of the 16th century comes from a workshop in Osnabrück
  • John the Baptist figure from the 16th century
  • Christ at rest from the 17th century
  • Two apostles from the high altar of the previous church from 1777
  • Glass windows designed in the 20th century by Josef Scheuer (1930), Julius Matschinski (1931), Albert Bocklage (1988/1993) and artists not known by name.

organ

The organ was rebuilt in 2010 by the organ building company Fleiter (Münster) in the tower room, with large parts of the pipe material from the previous instrument by Franz Breil (Dorsten) from 1973 being reused. The instrument has 42 registers (including two transmissions) on three manuals and a pedal . The game actions are - with the exception of those of the chamade movement - mechanical. The stop actions are electric. A special feature is that the pipes of the principal 16 'of the main plant were placed freely hanging to the right and left of the tower opening.
