St. Anna (Leogang)
St. Anna is a miners' chapel in the mining village of Hütten in the district of Zell am See in Austria, which belongs to the municipality of Leogang in the state of Salzburg . It is under monument protection ( list entry ).
location
The Leoganger Knappenkapelle is located in the center of the village on the village square of Hütten by the bridge over the Leoganger Ache , which flows south of the chapel. Immediately adjacent are the Leogang Mining and Gothic Museum and the Kaiser-Franz-Joseph-Jubiläumslinde.
history
The Knappenkapelle St. Anna in Hütten was in the years 1769/70 by order and at the expense of the Salzburg Prince Archbishop Sigismund III. Christoph Graf Schrattenbach built in place of a dismantled previous building after he had bought the Leogang mines .
The chapel is under the patronage of the Grandmother of Christ and Mother of Mary, Saint Anne , the European silver saint . The last major restoration of the chapel took place in 1982/83.
Furnishing
As a valuable specialty, the Anna Chapel has a one-piece mountain altar . According to information on site, this is one of three mountain altars in Europe , alongside the two winged altars in Annaberg (Saxony) and Gossensaß (South Tyrol). In the lower part it shows the mining village of Hütten with a tunnel mouth hole from which a miner pushes a hunt . There are several mining saints above, including St. Barbara with the chalice. Also shown is the Holy Florian , who is based with his left hand on a red-white-red-striped flag with the right hand of water on a partially burning Huthaus the miners poured to clear the fire.

Annafest
Annually, on July 26th, the Annafest takes place in huts, in which the miners' band is the focus.

About 5 km southwest of the Knappenkapelle is the Leogang mine in the Schwarzleo district of Leogang , where impressions of medieval and early modern mining can still be gathered today.
