The Catholic branch church St. Barbara and Helena in Pomster , a local community in the Ahrweiler district ( Rhineland-Palatinate ), was built in the 18th century and is a listed building .

history

The Church of St. Barbara and St. Helena dedicated , is a nave plastered quarry stone having a length of twelve and a width of five meters. The year 1716 is written above the portal. In the 1990s the building was completely renovated and the walls drained. On the slate-covered gable roof there is a slender, tapering roof turret . The six arched windows are framed with basalt lava .

Inside there are wooden sculptures from the 18th century: Mary as Queen of Heaven, St. Hubertus as bishop and with stag, St. Wendelin , also shown as a bishop with a book and a bike at his feet. The high altar , also from the 18th century, has columns and figures of saints in the typical Baroque style .
