St. Bartholomew (Manufacture)
The Catholic parish church of St. Bartholomäus is a listed church building in Herstelle , a town in the town of Beverungen in the Höxter district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).
History and architecture
The community was founded in the second half of the 9th century and a previous church was first mentioned in 1173. Today's church, a three- bay hall made of plastered quarry stone, closes with a three-sided choir . The east yoke is shorter. The building is supported by buttresses , the west tower under a curved dome is built in and marked 1710. The ribbed vaults with belt arches rest on rectangular templates with profiled fighters .
Furnishing
- The lead glass windows were installed around 1900.
- The wooden high altar with a broad column retable is marked 1851. The original version was exposed in 1970. The altar sheet is signed Johann Franz Xaver Laudage, 1856.
- The baptism in the shape of a cup made of sandstone is marked 1628. The Romanesque base is reused as a foot.
- Wooden figures with depictions of a Pietà and a double mandonna are from the 17th century.
- The figures of St. Elisabeth and St. Nikolaus were made in the Papen workshop around 1700 .
- The small Calvary group from the 18th century was redesigned in 1970 based on findings.
