St. Elisabeth Church of Trimberg

The Roman Catholic Church of St. Elizabeth is located in Trimberg , a district of in Lower Franconia nearby market Elfershausen . The church is St. Consecrated to Elisabeth of Thuringia .

The church is one of the architectural monuments of Elfershausen and is registered under the number D-6-72-121-50 in the Bavarian list of monuments .

history

The first Trimberg church is mentioned in 1381.

Today's Roman Catholic Church of St. Elisabeth was built in the first half of the 18th century.

description

The nave has two window axes. The windows of the church are segmental arches. The retracted northeast choir continues in the basement of the church tower . The upper floor of the church tower is made of wood and has a bell dome.

Furnishing

The original high altar of the church is said to have burned down due to the carelessness of the acolytes. On November 11, 1874, the altar designed by Johann Peter Wagner in 1770 from the Salinenkirche ( Hausen , now part of Bad Kissingen ) was set up as a high altar. The middle part of the two-pillar altar shows a plastic representation of the coronation of Mary . The right side altar , also with a two-column structure, is equipped with a figure of Our Lady . The left side altar is replaced by a figure of the church patroness Elisabeth of Thuringia .

Bells

The large bell with a diameter of 67 cm was cast in 1628. A smaller bell was added in 1919. Their diameter was 53 cm. So much for the inventory in 1955. Today the church has three bells with the tone sequence d ”- f sharp” - a ”.
