The Evangelical Lutheran parish church of St. Jakobus is the village church of Mittelinn in the Lower Franconian district of Main-Spessart . The church is one of the architectural monuments of Mittelinn and is registered together with the churchyard wall under the number D-6-77-159-4 in the Bavarian list of monuments . The Mittelinn parish , to which Obersinn and Aura im Sinngrund also belong, is part of the Lohr am Main dean's office .

history

The Reformation was introduced in the middle around the year 1564. The oldest part of the church is the basement of the church tower from the 14th century; the upper floor was added in 1592. The nave was built in 1734.

description

The choir tower rises east of the nave. It has a pointed roof and two small ogival sound windows on each side . The choir is provided with a ribbed vault and has an ogival window on each side. The sacristy is built on the south side of the choir . The flat-roofed nave has four window axes . The windows are segment arcs . To the west of the nave is a lower and narrower porch.

Furnishing

The altar in the choir is equipped with a crucifix . A sacrament niche can be seen on the north wall of the choir . The pulpit is to the right of the choir arch. To the left of the choir arch hangs a painting by Martin Luther . The baptismal font is in the middle of the choir arch. An L-shaped gallery is built into the nave , which occupies the north and south walls. The organ is set up on its west side .
