BW

The Church of St. Johannes Evangelist was the Catholic church in Bad Eilsen , a parish in the Schaumburg district in Lower Saxony . Most recently she belonged to the parish of St. Marien in Bückeburg in the diocese of Hildesheim . The church was named after the Evangelist Johannes and was located in Ringstrasse 1. Today the closest Catholic churches are 4 km away in Bückeburg and Obernkirchen .

history

The church was built in 1963 by the Diocese of Osnabrück , to which Bad Eilsen and the Bückeburg dean's office still belonged at that time. It served as a branch church of the parish in Bückeburg, in particular for the Catholic expellees who had settled in Bad Eilsen after the Second World War , but also for the spa guests of Bad Eilsen.

On May 29, 2010 it was profaned by Vicar General Werner Schreer . The church building, which is around 93 meters above sea level , was sold and is used profanely today. The organ , made around 1969 by EF Walcker & Cie. ( Ludwigsburg ), came to the Church of the Divine Mercy in Cracow ( Poland ) and was consecrated again in 2013 after renovation and expansion.
