St. John the Baptist (Raisting)
The former pilgrimage church of St. John the Baptist in Raisting , a community in the Upper Bavarian district of Weilheim-Schongau , was probably built around 1428. The church, two kilometers south of the village, is a protected architectural monument .
description
The late Gothic hall building has a strongly drawn-in three-sided closed choir , to which a sacristy was added. The small west tower is crowned by an onion dome. The nave and tower were renewed in 1725.
Furnishing
The high altar was created around 1728. The miraculous image of John the Baptist comes from the end of the 15th century. The wooden figures of St. Zacharias , father of John, and St. Elisabeth were carved in 1728.
