St. Lambertus

The Catholic parish church of St. Lambertus is a listed church building in Dolberg , a district of Ahlen in the Warendorf district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

History and architecture

The parish was first mentioned in 1193.

The old church from the beginning of the 14th century is preserved in the extension from 1901. The building is a long house of two arched bays with a double arched dividing belt on the central column. This creates a five-cap vault shape . This gives the impression of a two-aisled room . The choir is square. On the outside of the gable wall there are two rows of a pointed arch frieze with primitive heads. The furnishings include a double Madonna from the end of the 15th century.
