St. Lambertus (Edingen)
St. Lambertus is the Roman Catholic parish church of the Edingen district of the Ralingen parish in the Trier-Saarburg district in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The building is registered as a monument in the list of cultural monuments in Ralingen and is dedicated to St. Consecrated to Lambert von Liège .
history
Until 2007, the parish of St. Lambertus Edingen still had the following subsidiary communities: St. Silvester Minden and St. Johannes Menningen . On July 3, 2007, these branch parishes were changed to the parish of St. Ambrosius Irrel .
Building history
A church in Edingen is first mentioned in a document in 1161. The Romanesque bell tower of this church is still preserved. The tower of St. Peter in Echternach served as a model . The nave was rebuilt in 1775 and rebuilt several times in 1837 and 1860. Today the church is a single-nave building with a baroque nave and a Romanesque bell tower on the side of the nave.
Furnishing
Of the furnishings, the baroque high altar with the two side altars should be mentioned, a sandstone relief of St. Nicholas and the baptismal font, also made of stone.
