history

The church was originally Gothic and was built in the 15th century . The basement of the church tower has been preserved from this period . The church and the upper floor of the tower were built in 1703. The tower was given the Welsche dome in 1783. The church was renovated in 1952 and 1954.

Description and equipment

The church tower is in the west of the church building. The outside of the choir and nave merge seamlessly; inside they are separated by a round choir arch . An oil painting by the church patron Leonhard can be seen on the classical main altar . On the left side there is a wooden figure of St. Mary in Glory, on the right side an altarpiece of St. Joseph . On the south wall you can see a wooden sculpture of St. Sebastian from the 15th century.

Peal

In 1913 the ringing consisted of two bells , one of which was lost in the First World War . The bell, which was re-cast in 1920 to replace the lost bell, is no longer hanging in the tower. In 1950 the bells were changed to three bells, with the remaining bell from the First World War (the old St. Mary's bell from the 15th century) and an old bell of unknown origin added. Only the largest bell (the new Marienglocke) is a new casting from the bell foundry Petit & Gebr. Edelbrock . The consecration of bells took place on October 15, 1950.
