The White Rabbit is a German television - Drama , which is directed by Florian Schwarz with child grooming apart sets. It was first broadcast on September 28, 2016 on Erste , and in the rest of Europe on September 22, 2017 on arte .
action
For the shy thirteen-year-old Sara , the net is a meeting point and refuge. There she meets "Benny", who seems very sensitive and claims to be seventeen years old. She does not know that behind this username , which has a white rabbit as a profile picture , is actually the teacher and family man Simon Keller . He is shown how he pleases himself while he secretly observes his young students in physical education.
Sara confides in “Benny” after she is blackmailed with a revealing photo by “Kevin” - the pseudonym of the sixteen year old Julian Kiefer , another internet acquaintance.
Keller, alias Benny, offers her to give his trust teacher Keller his own user account so that he can help her. She makes an appointment with the teacher in a park, where he suggests that she confront the blackmailer at a meeting and take the photo from him.
After the two youngsters, Keller arrives at the meeting point and from his cover witnesses a sexual assault , but does not come to Sara to help, but watches what is happening until "Kevin" has left. Only then does he go to the girl to comfort her and send her home in a taxi.
He then follows the boy into a café and uses force to force the handover of the cell phone on which there is also a film of the sexualized act of violence .
The café is monitored by LKA special investigator Miki Witt, who steps in immediately, confiscates the phone and takes both of them to the police station. Based on Sara's statements, Keller can credibly convey to the investigative group that he made contact with the child under a pretext in order to protect them from attacks like this, and refers to his function as a media educator. Only Witt does not believe him, continues to investigate on his own, connects the case with a previous murder of a child and puts Keller under massive pressure.
This lures the investigator to his secret place , a horse farm, where Sara has fled. There he kills the policeman. The last shots show Keller, who is comforted in his imagination by Sara, and then a stylized chat room in which a dog avatar with a bloody snout kneels over a motionless, bloody rabbit avatar.
