The Catholic parish church of St. Lucia and Willibrord is a listed church building in Silbach , a district of Winterberg in the Hochsauerlandkreis ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

history

The place was ravaged by a fire in 1803. Only six houses remained, and the chapel burned down. The current building was erected in 1809 about 60 meters below the former chapel. The longitudinal walls of the originally simple hall church with a 3/8 end are divided by three arched windows each. The building was made of local quarry stone and rough plastered on the weather side . The window sills were made from slate broken on site . An extension with a rectangular choir and then a rectangular sacristy was made in 1902. A plastered wooden beam ceiling was installed. The arched portal in the western front got the corresponding pilasters in 1902 . In the niche above the entablature there is a sandstone figure of St. Lucia . The roof turret is crowned with an onion hood . A choir bell was hung in the small tower above the choir. In 1964 a large extension and the construction of a church tower in the style of the time followed.
