St. Mary's Visitation (Marialinden)
St. Mariä Visitation is a Roman Catholic pilgrimage church to Marialinden ( Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis ) in North Rhine-Westphalia .
history
The builders of the church around 1516 are the Lords of Wylich zu Grossenbernsau , who also had the patronage of the church. They had an older saint's house replaced with the church. The three-aisled Gothic hall church has three bays with an adjoining long choir with a 5/8 end . In 1676 Marialinden became a branch church of Olpe , later it was placed under Overath . In 1857 it was finally raised to the status of an independent parish church.
In 1897/1898, according to plans by the Cologne architect Theodor Kremer, the Gothic nave was extended by a yoke and a neo-Gothic two - tower facade was added to the west. The construction costs of 36,000 marks were raised through a collection in the community and with the support of the Cologne cathedral capitular Ferdinand Stiefelhagen , who came from Marialinden . The painting was carried out in 1957 after late Gothic remains in the eastern central nave yoke.
organ
The organ was built in 1999 by the organ building company Schulte (Kürten). The slider chest instrument has 22 registers on two manuals and a pedal. The playing and stop actions are electric.
