Haindorf, St. Marien

The Evangelical Lutheran village church of St. Marien is elevated in Haindorf , a district of the rural community Am Ettersberg in the Weimarer Land district in Thuringia . St. Mary's Church belongs to the parish Krautheim-Hainsdorf the parish area Buttelstedt in Kirchenkreis Apolda Buttstaedt the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The hall church with the choir tower is of medieval origin. It was built from rubble stones and is only partially plastered . The nave was rebuilt in the second half of the 17th century . It was covered with a hipped roof. In 1788 the tower was given an upper floor with a curved dome on which an open lantern sits. One bell is from 1889, another bell was cast in honor of those who died in the First World War .

In 1994 the flat wooden barrel vault and the two-storey galleries were renovated. The pulpit altar and the organ front are from the 1st half of the 18th century. The organ with 14 registers , divided into 2 manuals and pedal , was built in 1848 by Carl August Witzmann .
