St. Marien (small vineyard)

The chapel

The St. Marien village chapel is a Roman Catholic chapel in Kleinweingarten , a district of the market town of Pleinfeld in the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district in Central Franconia . The building is registered under the monument number D-5-77-161-70 as an architectural monument in the Bavarian monument list. The chapel should not be confused with the St. Marien village chapel in the Pleinfeld district of Mannholz and the St. Marien village chapel in the Pleinfeld district of Gündersbach .

The chapel dedicated to Mary stands in the middle of the village off the main road on the Kleinweingarten 8 property at an altitude of 458 meters above sea level . The building is a small gable roof made of sandstone blocks with a roof turret .

A first chapel was built in 1830. After a fire, today's chapel was built in 1874. The inventory includes the altar with a statue of the Virgin Mary in a niche, two chandelier angels, a cast iron cross and an eternal light .
