The St. Martin branch church in Westenhofen , a district of the Schliersee market in the Upper Bavarian district of Miesbach , was built between 1734 and 1737. The church, which stands below the so-called Kirchbichl , is a protected architectural monument .

History and architecture

Until 1884, St. Martin was the parish church of Schliersee. The new baroque building was built with the inclusion of the late Gothic tower from 1529. During the renovation from 1973 to 1975, the vault paintings were restored.

The hall with a retracted, semicircular closed choir is covered by a barrel cap over square wall pillars . The frescoes , created by an unknown painter in 1737, show scenes from the legend of Martin .

Furnishing

The high altar was created in neo-renaissance form by Johann Marggraff in 1878 . The side altars were built in 1635 and were slightly changed in 1878.

The rococo - pulpit with allegories on the faith, hope and love sounding board provided.

The pews have name tablets from the period after the 1767th
