description

The plastered hall church made of quarry stones was created in different construction phases. The recessed rectangular choir was built before 1400. The nave with two bays was built in the 2nd half of the 14th century. Its longitudinal walls are supported by buttresses . When the entire building was thoroughly restored in 1836, the stone-faced church tower with corner stones was added in the west, which received a blunt slate-covered pyramid roof .

The interior has a heavily busted ribbed vault , which was drawn in at the end of the 15th century along with the elevation of the walls. The grooved vault ribs and the round belt arch sit on consoles in the nave , while the pointed arched choir arch is formed by grooved spiers with circular keystones . The late Classicist church furnishings from 1836 have largely been preserved. The organ from 1890, which Heinrich Schaper & Sohn had built, was replaced in 1963 by Friedrich Weissenborn with a new one in the old prospectus . This has 8 registers , distributed over a manual and a pedal . It was restored in 2010 by Jörg Bente .
