Life
Bente spent the first years of his life and school in Wittingen. In 1967 he moved to Berlin and attended the Goethe-Gymnasium in Berlin-Wilmersdorf after primary school . At the age of eight he received piano lessons, later organ and trumpet lessons. After graduating from high school in 1977, he began training as an organ and harmonium builder in the Karl Lötzerich workshop in Ippinghausen in 1978. During his apprenticeship he continued to play the organ. With the completion of the shortened apprenticeship, he became the chamber and Hessian state winner in the performance competition of the practical craft youth in 1981 .
His years of traveling first led him to the Förster & Nicolaus organ building workshop in Lich. Afterwards he worked for a few years in the organ building workshop of Dieter Noeske in Rotenburg / Fulda. During his activity in Rotenburg he attended the master school in Ludwigsburg and passed the master craftsman examination there in 1986 as the best of his year. From 1990 onwards he worked in the Emil Hammer organ building workshop in Hanover , and in 1993 he went freelance as an organ builder in Helsinghausen.
In addition to all work on pipe organs, restorations of harmonies (pressure and suction) are also part of his field of activity.
Jörg Bente received important impulses for his listening and his sonic work through his participation in the Junge Kantorei under Wilhelm Pommerien . Jörg Bente still works part-time as an organist and choir director. In addition, he takes a teaching position at the Hochschule für Musik true (HMTMH) for the subject organ customer.
