St. Paulus Apostel in Vörden , Neuenkirchen-Vörden parish , is the parish church of the Catholic parish of St. Paulus Apostel Vörden, which belongs to the Osnabrück-Nord deanery of the Osnabrück diocese .

Building history and description

After the simultaneous church of St. Christophorus burned down in 1842, the Catholic parish had its own church built on the site of the official building of the former Vörden Castle from 1856 , which was consecrated in 1858 and received the patronage of the Apostle Paul . It is a plastered hall church in the post-classical style with arched windows. The neo-Romanesque west tower was added in 1884–1889, and in 1906 the polygonal choir .

Interior

The church is fully furnished with historical stained glass , in the choir by Wilhelm Derix . A Stations of the Cross from 1906 has been preserved from the wall painting that originally filled the entire nave . A chandelier of wrought iron dates from the 19th century, the body of the triumphal cross from the late 15th century.

The organ was built in 1980–1981 by the organ building company Breil (Dorsten). The slider chest instrument has 18 stops on two manual works and a pedal. The action mechanism is mechanical, the stop action is electrical.

Bells

The Paulus Church has a four-part bronze bell from the Otto bell foundry in Bremen-Hemelingen. The bells were cast in 1948. Their strike tone series is: e '- g' - a '- h'. Their diameters are: 1198 mm, 1010 mm, 897 mm, 799 mm.
