Ines and Hans try to save their crumbling marriage with a vacation trip. With three children, the grandmother, and a few hamsters, it goes to Sardinia in the overloaded car. But the cracks in relationships only really come to light in the holiday resort: the marriage is hopelessly broken; Ines has a lover; the children no longer want to have anything to do with the family; the grandmother leaves the vacation spot; the little son also runs away.
