The Stade Charles-Mathon is a stadium in the French town of Oyonnax in the Ain department . It is located on the Cours de Verdun on the southern edge of the city center and is the home stadium of the rugby union club US Oyonnax , which has been in the top 14 league since 2013 . The stadium can accommodate 8,500 spectators and also has an athletics facility . The stadium was opened in 1939; a renovation took place in 1983, an expansion in 2005. The stadium is named after Charles Mathon, who played for the club in the 1920s and 1930s.
