The Stade Amédée-Domenech is a rugby and football stadium in the French town of Brive-la-Gaillarde in the Corrèze department . It is home to the rugby union club CA Brive , which is represented in the top 14 French league . Occasionally, it has also hosted matches for the local football club ESA Brive .
The stadium, which opened in 1922, has a capacity of 15,000 seats, which are spread over two side stands. It is named after Amédée Domenech , a former CA Brive rugby union player who played for the French national rugby union team from 1954 to 1963 . The stadium is currently the largest in the Limousin and is expected to remain so until the renovation work at the Beaublanc Stadium in Limoges is complete .
In the Stade Amédée-Domenech important games of the French league Top 14 as well as the Heineken Cup took place. In 1991 the stadium was also the venue for a rugby world championship match between Romania and Fiji .
In 2004 the stadium was also the venue for a quarter-final match in the French Football Cup between ESA Brive and Paris Saint-Germain FC .
