Gas supply

In 1860, Eckernförde began to be supplied with town gas , Borby followed in 1928. Since 1881, the required hard coal could be brought in by rail. Water supply

The waterworks supply over 100 km of pipeline with 1,400,000 m³ of water to 6,100 house connections every year. Eight wells deliver water from a depth of 30 to 100 m.

Electricity supply

From 1993 to 1996 the municipal utilities tested the transmission of electricity demand via ripple control technology to the connected households. District heating

Stadtwerke Eckernförde operates several natural gas-powered combined heat and power plants and mini-combined heat and power plants. You are the main shareholder of Biomasse Energieversorgung (BEV) Domsland GmbH. BEV Domsland supplies 400 residential units with heat and feeds electricity into the grid.

Stadtwerke also operates the Eckernförde city harbor with its 900 meter long quays and over 100 yacht berths in the outer harbor.
