Stakeout is a Berlin band that claims to be doing “ fun punk pop alternative rock with occasional offbeat excursions” with German-language lyrics.

history

The group emerged at the end of 2002 / beginning of 2003 in part from the band "Stubenrocker". Stakeout today consists of Thomas Martiens (guitar, vocals), Sören Diedrich (guitar, vocals), Daniel Ludewig (bass, vocals) and Hänka (drums).

For years, Stakeout has gained a loyal fan base through numerous live gigs throughout Germany, which has also attracted the attention of various record companies, magazines and radio stations.

The band released numerous albums and EPs on their own before they decided to found their own label with friends called Volksmusike. The first official LP for this label was released in 2005 under the name "Wes Kind ich ess, des Fahrrad I steal". The record was recorded and produced in Berlin by Ron Thiele (including Dreadful Shadows ).

At the beginning of May 2006, the band came to record new pieces in the Prussian recording studios in Berlin's Kreuzberg district , where bands such as Die Ärzte , Abwärts or Zeraphine have already worked. The producer was Thommy Hein , who had already mastered Stakeout's fourth album “Wes Kind ich ess, des Fahrrad I steal”. However, so far only one song from this session ("A half pig from the grill") has been published as the B-side on the single "Too much selection".

Between October and December 2007 the band recorded a new 16-song LP together with producer Uwe Sabirowsky ( Beatsteaks , Donots , Gods of Blitz ) in the Cologne Mini-Rock-Studios, which was released on July 25, 2008 and "Meet the - Cut the "means.

From October 2009 to January 2010 the recordings for the sixth studio album "Gift to the World", which contains 15 songs, were recorded in the Kinski Studio in Berlin, presented on July 22, 2010 in the Sage Club in Berlin and released on July 28, 2010 . Guest musicians have also been invited to the studio, so that in addition to the standard line-up, trumpet, accordion and cello can be heard on some of the songs.
