Stanisław Łubieński (Bishop)
Stanisław Łubieński (* 1573 in Łubna , † April 16, 1640 in Wyszków ) was a Polish royal vice-chancellor, bishop and publicist . He was the brother of Archbishop Maciej Łubieński .
Life
Łubieński studied in Granz , Perugia and Rome . From 1591 he was royal secretary and in 1593 accompanied Sigismund III. Wasa to Sweden . He was a member of the Sejm and from 1599 canon in Gniezno , from 1613 canon in Krakow and from 1615 archdeacon in Krakow. From 1618 to 1625 he was abbot of Tyniec Abbey , from 1624 bishop in Łuck , from 1625 to 1627 royal vice-chancellor and from 1627 bishop of Płock .
Politically he supported Sigismund III. Wasa and Władysław IV. Wasa . He was also a promoter of science and poetry and set up a large library in Pułtusk . He wrote historical and political writings that were only published posthumously .
