Stanislav Schyrokoradjuk OFM ( Ukrainian Станіслав Широкорадюк ; born June 23, 1956 in Kornachivka , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Odessa-Simferopol .

Life

Stanislaw Schyrokoradjuk studied philosophy and theology at the Major Seminary of Riga, Latvia, and entered the Congregation of the Franciscan one. He received on 4 June 1984, the sacrament of Holy Orders and laid 1988 his final vows on. From 1984 to 1994 he was pastor in Polonnoye , Ukraine.

On November 26, 1994 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Surista and auxiliary bishop in Zhytomyr , since 1998 in the diocese of Kyiv-Zhytomyr . On April 12, 2014, he was appointed Bishop of Kharkiv-Zaporizhia by Pope Francis . The inauguration took place on May 29 of the same year.

Stanislav Schyrokoradjuk called for help for the people in the areas contested by government troops and separatists: "Everyone should be more active and not just talk." The situation in the east of Ukraine is catastrophic. Europe must unite against "Russia's aggression".

Pope Francis appointed him coadjutor bishop of Odessa-Simferopol with special powers on February 2, 2019 . The resulting vacant Diocese of Kharkiv-Zaporizhia he administered as Apostolic Administrator during the Sedis vacancy, which lasted until February 14 of the following year . With the acceptance of the age-related resignation of Bronisław Bernacki by Pope Francis on February 18, 2020 he succeeded him as Bishop of Odessa-Simferopol.
