Stanley Frazen

Stanley Frazen (born August 15, 1919 in Chicago , Illinois , † January 23, 2011 in Studio City , Los Angeles , California ) was an American film editor .

Life

Stanley Frazen came to Los Angeles at the age of 18 and found a job in the Warner Bros. mailroom . During World War II , he served in the First Motion Picture Unit in the United States Army Air Forces . This is where he got to know film editing . After the war Frazen made his debut as the editor of a feature film with the 1947 film noir For You I Die, directed by John Reinhardt . He was then able to establish himself as an editor and cut television series such as Mein Unkel vom Mars and Drei Engel für Charlie , as well as films such as The Legacy of Monte Christo and A Leap in the Bowl .

He founded the production company Tiger Prods with actor Edmund O'Brien . He was a member of the American Cinema Editors , of which he was president from 1968 to 1970, and of the Motion Picture Editors Guild , of which he was president in 1970. He was also on the board of both associations for several years. He received the ACE Career Achievement Award in 2001 for his life's work.

23 January 2011 Frazen died at the age of 90 years at a pneumonia . He left behind his wife, three children and four grandchildren. Son Robert also works in the editing department.
