Stara Talalajiwka ( Ukrainian Стара Талалаївка ; Russian Старая Талалаевка Staraja Talalajewka , until 2016 Syltschenkowe ) is a village in the southeast of the Ukrainian Oblast Chernihiv with about 800 inhabitants (2001).

The village, first mentioned in writing in 1629, was called Talalajiwka until 1921 and was then renamed Syltschenkowe ( Сильченкове ). In 2016, the village received its current name as part of the decommunization in Ukraine .

In the village there is the listed wooden church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary from the end of the 19th to the beginning of the 20th century.

In 1973 the population of the village was 1697 inhabitants, which fell to 805 inhabitants by the 2001 census.

Stara Talalajiwka is the administrative center of the same-named, 69.53 km² district council in the east of Talalayivka district , which also includes the village of Slobidka ( Слобідка , ) with about 220 inhabitants and the settlement of Osnowa ( Основа , ) with about 150 inhabitants .

The village is located on the banks of Ruda (Ukr. Руда ), a 40km long, left tributary of the Perewid (Ukr. Перевід ; river system údaj ), 7 km south of Rajonzentrum Talalaivka and about 210 km southeast of the Oblastzentrum Chernihiv . Territorial road T-25-15 runs two kilometers east of the village .

  • Ivan Kawaleridze (1887–1978), sculptor, filmmaker, film director, playwright and screenwriter, spent his childhood here
