Stefan Bollinger

Stefan Bollinger (born August 30, 1954 in Berlin ) is a German political scientist and historian . The main focus of his work is the GDR and German reunification .

biography

Bollinger comes from the GDR. After studying philosophy , political science and history at the Humboldt University of Berlin , he received his doctorate in 1983 on issues of Soviet domestic politics of the early 1920s to Dr. sc. phil. His habilitation in 1986 dealt with the new social movements in the Federal Republic .

As for other system-related scientists , the end of the GDR also meant a break in his academic career for Bollinger .

Bollinger is a lecturer at the Otto Suhr Institute of the Free University of Berlin , where he holds seminars on topics related to the GDR and reunification. In addition, he is a member of the historical commission of the party Die Linke and the Leibniz Society as well as deputy chairman of the association “Helle Panke” eV - Rosa Luxemburg Foundation Berlin . He lives and works in Berlin .
