Stefan Grundmann

Stefan Grundmann (born June 1, 1958 in Munich ) is a German legal scholar and art historian . He is currently Professor of Civil Law , German, European and International Private and Commercial Law at the Humboldt University in Berlin .

Life

After graduating from the Maximiliansgymnasium in Munich, Grundmann studied law at the University of Munich from 1977 to 1982 , as well as art history and Romance studies at the Universities of Lausanne and Aix-en Provence . In 1985 he was at the University of Munich with work skills against the substantive law: German-Portuguese contributions to the autonomy of the internatanionalen private law , which he partly as a fellow in Lisbon has worked for Dr. iur. PhD. This was followed by a further doctorate in 1986 at the University of Munich. In 2001, Grundmann accepted an appointment at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg . Since 2004 he has been a professor at the Humboldt University in Berlin. He is a founding member of the European Law Institute , as well as the Society of European Contract Law ( SECOLA ) and the European Law School . Between the 2013 winter semester and the 2018 summer semester, he also taught at the European University Institute in Florence . He is a member of the civil law teachers association .
