Stefan Horneber (born January 6, 1986 in Nuremberg , Germany ) is an Austrian - German ice hockey goalkeeper who has been playing for ESV Buchloe since 2012 .

Career

Stefan Horneber started his career in Zell am See , a town neighboring his hometown Saalfelden, at EK Zell am See there . There the goalie first went through the youth teams and also received his first appearances in the national league, the second highest Austrian division , in the 2002/03 season . Until 2004 Horneber played for Zell am See. For the 2004/05 season Horneber moved to Germany for TSV Erding , for which he was active in the Bayern League for two years . The goalkeeper then played one season with the Landshut Cannibals in the 2nd Bundesliga . In addition, he was a production license of the Tigers Straubing in the DEL come to missions, but due to the completed by him games for the U20 national team of Austria was no longer possible.

For the 2007/08 season , Horneber, who has both Austrian and German citizenship , signed a contract with the Kölner Haien , where he acted as a back-up behind former national goalkeeper Robert Müller . Therefore, his contract was terminated in December 2009, and Horneber got a trial contract with EC Peiting . This was extended at the end of December until the end of the season. For the 2010/11 season , Horneber was hired by the Ice Pirates Crimmitschau and given a license for the Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg .

In the 2011/12 season he was in goal for ESV Kaufbeuren. At the same time, he is training to be an industrial clerk in Kaufbeuren .
